Slovakia v Luxembourg Betting Tips [23 March 2023]

The UEFA Euro 2024 qualification matches are set to get underway this week, and on Thursday, we will see Slovakia welcome Luxembourg to the Anton Malatinsky Stadium for the first matchup in Group J. The visitors bowed out of the 2020 qualifiers in last place in Group B. However, they have made considerable improvements over the last four years and had an excellent UEFA Nations League tournament, finishing in second place behind Turkey in League C Group 1, ahead of the Faroe Islands and Lithuania. Luxembourg also played two friendlies since then, against Hungary and Bulgaria, both of which they drew. With those draws, Luxembourg is now five matches undefeated, albeit four of those matches were draws, with the solitary win coming over Lithuania.

Despite having their worse recent record between these sides, Slovakia comes into the match as the strong favourite. However, the visitors have improved immensely over the last few years and showed it in the UEFA Nations League last year. They are also unbeaten in their last five matches in all competitions, scoring eight goals in that time. Based on the stats, it wouldn’t surprise if the visitors took something away from this match. At odds of 2.25 to avoid defeat, this could be a great return if it were to land. Therefore, our Slovakia v Luxembourg prediction is a double chance of a draw or a win for the visitors.
