Scotland will look to continue their perfect start to Euro 2024 qualifiers when they travel to take on Norway on Saturday. The visitors currently lead Group A with six points after their first two matches, three points above Spain in second place. They beat Cyprus 3-0 in their opening match and went on to produce arguably an even better performance against Spain three days later, coming out on top 2-0. Currently ranked 36th according to FIFA, Scotland have only been beaten once in their last seven matches, while earning five wins and a draw in that time. While their home form is impressive of late, their form on the road isn’t. They come into this match having only won one of their last five matches on the road, which came against Armenia a year ago. It's been a decade since these sides last met, but Scotland did win the last encounter. With the form they've shown in this competition, they'll fancy their chances of keeping their perfect record intact here.
Norway have also played two matches so far in the qualifiers, but unlike their opponents, they are yet to pick up their first win. The hosts lost their opening game 3-0 to Spain and only managed a 1-1 draw against Georgia in their second match. They are currently second from bottom in the group, with only Cyrus below them, and yet to get off the mark. Over their last six matches, Norway have won just one while drawing two and losing two. They are winless in their last three. The hosts have not played at home in a competitive match since the UEFA Nations League group stages last year, where they finished second in their group, three points behind Serbia. In their last five matches at home, Norway have won two, drawn two, and lost one and will see this as a must-win if they are to make up ground on the early group leaders.
Scotland looked excellent in their opening match in this competition and proved their worth by beating Spain fairly comfortably in their second match. With Erling Haaland in attack, Norway always carries a major goal threat, and it wouldn't surprise us if we saw a handful of goals flying in at both ends in this one. Our Norway vs Scotland prediction: Both teams to score.
