Guinea have been paired with Madagascar as they kick off their Africa Cup of Nations Group B pair-ups. The two sides will be fighting for supremacy with Burundi and Nigeria. Guinea made it to the AFCON finals after leading Group H of the qualifiers with three wins and three draws. Mohamed Yatara and Jose Kante were among the goal scoring leaders in the qualifiers and some of the names to look out for in the tournament. From their last six matches in all competitions, Guinea have drawn thrice and lost thrice. Guinea have beaten next opponents Madascar once in their last two head to head matches, of which one ended in a draw. Madagascar, were second in Group A, behind Senegal and ahead of Equatorial Guinea and Sudan. Madagascar won thrice, drew once and lost twice in the group matches. From their last six matches across the board, Madagascar won once, drew once and lost four times. Expect the likes of Paulin Voavy, Njiva Rakotoharimalala and Carolus Andriamatsinoro to impress in the Egypt tournament.
While Madagascar are known to pull suprises in international competitions, they are presently paired with a hard-tackling Guinea side. Expect the Guineans to carry the day, even if the winning goals comes late in the match.
