Sam Allardyce picked up his first win as West Brom boss with a 3-2 win in a Black Country derby over Wolves and now he takes his team to the home of his former employers. Big Sam was West Ham manager between 2011 and 2015 and he arrives in East London with his team 19th on 11 points, five from safety. As for West Ham they recorded their second consecutive league win with a 1-0 victory over the struggling Burnley. David Moyes’ side are flying high in 9th and with a legitimate chance of qualifying for Europe come the end of the campaign.
West Ham have won each of their last two league games by one goal to-nil. A 1-0 victory in the FA Cup over Stockport County in between league wins at Everton and against Burnley mean West Ham are on a three-game winning run for the second time this season. The Hammers won just ten games throughout the whole of the last campaign but they have a great opportunity here to make it nine wins from the first half of their fixtures this time around. The hosts have only lost once at the London Stadium since the opening game of the season with only Manchester United leaving East London with all three points since Newcastle did back in September.
As for West Brom they picked up their first three points on the road this season and just their second victory of the campaign by defeating Midlands rivals Wolves in their own backyard on Saturday. West Brom were 3-2 winners and are now unbeaten in three away league games following 1-1 draws at Anfield and the Etihad Stadium. The Baggies won at this venue just last January in an FA Cup tie but the two clubs have gone in different directions since and it should make for an interesting game this time around.
