Watford v Norwich Betting Tips [21 January 2022]

Watford had to sit out last time as their game against Burnley was postponed but they will be back to action with a home game against Norwich City. The two promoted sides are separated by just one point, hosts Watford on 14 points in 17th place while Norwich City have 13 points in 18th place. Going to this game, Watford will be looking to do better than they did in the 1-1 draw with Newcastle United, where a late Joao Pedro goal saved them from an eighth straight defeat. The forward has now scored in their last two matches and will be charged up for this one, especially with Ismaila Sarr away at AFCON and Emmanuel Denis experiencing a goal drought. Watford haven’t won a game since beating Manchester United in November; it has been eight straight winless matches and they have just two wins in 16. Their scoring run has been impressive though, the team getting at least a goal in eight of the last 10 matches.

Norwich will have renewed motivation going to this game after their victory over Everton. That was a second win for them in three matches but they have lost the rest in their five-game run. Last season Norwich sealed promotion ahead of Watford in the Championship, but Watford have been dominant in meetings between these two sides. Watford have six wins in the last seven meetings with Norwich and the visitors will want to use their current rise as a platform to rise further here. Norwich are a point from the safe zone; this is a game they will be looking at as winnable. They will need some improvement in defence, going to face a side that has been consistent in attack. Norwich have managed just one clean sheet in their last five matches.

Norwich haven’t scored a lot in their recent matches but their two wins in the last three matches will come with a lot of the needed motivation. They face a Watford side that hasn’t won much in the recent matches but have had a good run in attack and we feel both sides scoring will be a good pick.
