Bottom side Watford host Crystal Palace as the English Premiership enters its sixteenth round this weekend. Nine losses, one win and five draws place Watford at the bottom of the table standings, where they sit thirteen points behind next opponents Palace.
Watford are on a three-match losing streak, with their latest failure being a 2-0 defeat at Leicester City on Wednesday evening. This was preceded by a 2-1 loss at Southampton and 3-0 beating at home to Burnley. At home, Watford have been registering mixed results including three draws, one win and two losses across all competitions.
Visitors Palace will be travelling to Vicarage Road seeking to extend their winning streak to three matches after they beat Bournemouth 1-0 and won 2-0 at Burnley. Jeffrey Schlup scored Crystal Palace's goal in the victory over Bournemouth, a match that the team closed without one man after Mamadou Sakho was red carded in the nineteenth minute. Schlupp was also one of the scorers at Burnley, the other one being Wilfried Zaha.
The Glaziers have registered three wins, one draw and two losses in six matches on the road, during which time they also managed to keep one clean sheet. But coach Roy Hodgson might need to exercise caution as his team lost 2-1 in each of last season's games against Watford.
While it may be easy to rule out Watford based on their current bad run, but like wounded animals they could be more lethal than expected. We expect them to put up a fight worthy of a home team and to either bid for a win or a draw. However, it might be more beneficial to go for over 2.5 goals as we expect both teams to score in this match.
