Villarreal host Juventus in the first leg of their Champions League last 16 tie. The Spanish side won the Europa League last season but won't now be defending that after finishing second in their Champions League group. They earned ten points from their six games but only won three of them. Villarreal are in with a chance of a top four finish in La Liga this season. They won 4-1 at Granada at the weekend are sixth in the table, three points behind the final Champions League qualification place but from a game more than Barcelona. Villarreal have drawn nine games in La Liga this season and two of their last three home league fixtures have ended all square.
Juventus made a poor start to the season but have moved up to fourth in Serie A but still face a battle to qualify for next season's Champions League. They won their group, finishing ahead of defending champions Chelsea. They beat the English side at home (all three home fixtures were won) but were beaten 4-0 at Stamford Bridge. Three of their last four Serie A games have ended in draws, the most recent being a 1-1 home stalemate with Torino at the weekend after taking the lead. Juventus are unbeaten in their last seven games and would be delighted with returning to Italy with a draw. Back this game to end level, most likely with both teams scoring.
