Azerbaijan side Qarabag and Czech Republic’s Viktoria Plzen will face off in the UEFA Champions League playoffs, either side gunning for a first leg advantage in their chase for a place in the group stage. With three straight wins, Qarabag will feel confident for this game and their scoring run should build on this. They have scored in all their last five matches, in four of them managing two or more goals. Qarabag have however managed just one clean sheet in their last five matches, and this came in their most recent game, a 2-0 win over Sumqayit in their domestic league.
Viktoria Plzen are coming from a 2-1 win over Hradec Kralove in the Czech domestic league. That was the fifth straight game in which they scored twice. It was also the fifth straight time in which they failed to keep a clean sheet, and also the fifth straight time that their games have produced over 2.5 goals. Viktoria Plzen started their Champions League journey at the second qualification round and have won all their matches in the competition so far. In their four games, they have managed just one clean sheet though. Away from home, across all competitions, they are unbeaten in the last four matches and scored twice in each of them.
Both these teams have good scoring runs as they come into this game and at the same time, they haven’t been the strongest in defence. Both will want to give it a strong start as they face off in the first leg and in their scoring forms, we will back each side to score.
