Tottenham can return to the top of the English Premier League with a home win over Wolves. They begin the weekend in fourth, while the visitors are in 14th with just a single point from two games. Tottenham began the season with a 4-1 home victory over Southampton after conceding an early goal. They had to come from behind twice at Stamford Bridge on Sunday but would have been pleased to come home with a 2-2 draw. Tottenham look as if they are going to be a difficult team to beat on home soil. They have won seven of their last eight home league games and the last four in a row with 11 goals in that quartet of victories. With six goals in their first two league games of the season, Tottenham are going to be a handful for Wolves.
Wolverhampton Wanderers won at Tottenham last season but had lost their previous three games against them. They have made a slow start to the new season with a 2-1 away loss at Leeds (after leading) and then a goalless home draw with newly-promoted Fulham. The latter could have been a second loss goal for a Fulham penalty being missed. Wolves finished tenth last season, five points off the Europa Conference League place. That might have been reached but for a poor end to the season that saw them earn just five points from their last ten league fixtures. Their last eight away Premier League matches have only seen them earn four points with four of the last five ending in defeat. Back Tottenham to continue their good home form with a win this weekend.
