Southampton v Wolves Betting Tips [26 September 2021]

Two Premier League strugglers meet at St. Mary's on Saturday when Southampton play host to Wolves. The two teams only have one win from ten matches between them. Wolves have the honour of claiming victory this season, yet they're in 16th, one point behind the 15th-placed Saints. The hosts have only lost one of their five matches, and that is a feat that deserves praise considering they took points off both Manchester giants. They are unbeaten in two matches at home, holding United and West Ham to stalemates. Three of their last five games produced fewer than three goals, which may be a side effect of losing a goalscorer like Danny Ings in the summer. They have only conceded six goals in the league, which shows the fine margins that can decide their games. Wolves know all about such margins, three of their four defeats were by a 1-0 scoreline, and the other was by a 2-0 scoreline. Only one team has scored in each of their five matches. 

Three of the last six matches between these teams featured three or more goals. Recent meetings at St. Mary's have dazzled, with the previous three producing more than three goals and seeing both teams score. Given how each side has started the season and how we're moving past the early stage of the campaign, it's hard to see either side casting away the shackles just yet.
