A mammoth game in what is turning out to be an exciting title race in Italy will take place on Sunday morning when Inter Milan storm the capital to take on AS Roma with both teams looking to keep up with league-leaders AC Milan. Inter Milan were beaten 2-1 by Sampdoria in midweek but seen their city rivals lose to Juventus so their gap to the top remains at just one point. As for Roma they made up ground in the title race by defeating bottom of the table Crotone 3-1 last time out. That win saw the capital club move onto 33 points, three behind Inter who are just above them in second.
Roma have put together a run of three straight victories in Serie A to immerse themselves in a thrilling title race in Italy. Juventus have dominated the league in recent years but they are back in fourth and have a handful of clubs gunning for their title. Two of which will meet at the Stadio Olimpico in what promises to be an entertaining encounter. Roma have lost just one game at home since February in all competitions and remain unbeaten when hosting this season. The home side have won each of their last three games at the Olimpico and are on a 15-game unbeaten run as the home team.
Meanwhile, Inter Milan made a genuine push for the Scudetto last year only to see it derailed in large part by the enforced break to the campaign due to COVID-19. Eight straight victories from the tail-end of November catapulted Inter up the table and their 2-1 loss to Sampdoria ended their 11-game unbeaten run in Serie A. The loss in Samp also ended a four-game winning run on the road for Inter and only AC Milan have picked up more points in away games, with 22, than Inter have from their eight matches on the road which has seen them accumulate 17 points from 24.
