Rennes v Lazio Betting Tips [12 December 2019]

So far this week Italy have had good and bad news in the Champions League with Juventus and Atalanta qualifying but Inter Milan being knocked out. Now it's the Europa League and Lazio are in danger of failing to make the last 32. They may be third in Serie A and just beaten Juventus but they aren't in the top two in their Europa League group. Lazio are third and travel to bottom of the table Rennes. They trail CFR Cluj by three points and even a win in France won't get them through if the Romanians can avoid defeat at home to Celtic. Lazio have won their last five games and eight of the last nine. They may be in good form but away results in the Europa League are poor with two defeats so far.

Rennes won't be qualifying for the last 32 as they did last season. They have struggled in this group and have just one point to their name from five matches. That was earned at home to Celtic, their other home match being a defeat by CFT Cluj. They are in good form though with three wins in a row seeing them currently fourth in Ligue 1. Their last four home matches have been won but both teams got on the scoresheet in each of those games. Lazio need the win here but their away form is a concern, go for both teams to score.

Both teams are in good form but haven't played that well in the Europa League. Rennes are already out of the competition but Lazio still have a chance of qualification. They need to win this game and see Celtic win away at CFR Cluj. Comebacks can happen though, just ask Atalanta in the Champions League. Lazio's main problem is their away form, with that in mind, the best bet here is for both teams to score a goal.
