A win for second placed PSV will take them back to the top of the Dutch Eredvisie. They host AZ Alkmaar who are fifth in the league but ten points behind their opponents. PSV had been top of the Eredivisie but lost that position to Ajax in their last game. They were beaten 2-1 at home by the reigning champions who now have a two point lead at the top. Ajax don't play until the sixth and are expected to beat 14th placed Heracles at home. PSV have won eight out of ten home league games this season. Their only other loss was to Feyenoord in September. They won the next seven before the Ajax defeat. The reverse fixture with AZ saw PSV win 3-0 five months ago.
The main target for AZ is to finish third in the table. That will get them automatic qualification for the Europa Conference League. At present they are in the play-off positions but only six points behind third placed Feyenoord. AZ have the second best home record in the Eredivisie, behind their opponents. Their away form is not so good with four wins, a draw and five defeats. It has improved of late though with two wins, including a victory at Ajax. AZ are unbeaten in their last nine league games but a form guide for the last ten matches still has PSV four points ahead of them. Back PSV to get the win here.
