The French Ligue 1 title race is settled; PSG are the new champions, and they will have so little to play for when they host Troyes on Match Day 36. PSG have 79 points while 14th placed Troyes have 39 points. PSG are coming from two straight draws. The French giants led 3-1 in their last game, against Strasbourg but conceded late and the game ended 3-3. It was their fourth time scoring two or more goals but they have just one clean sheet in five matches. Four of their last five matches have produced over 2.5 goals and PSG are unbeaten in their last six matches. PSG are so good at home, they are unbeaten in their last 20 league games there. This season they haven’t lost a league game at home but both sides have scored in four of their last five home games in the league.
Troyes, five points above the relegation playoff spot, are almost safe from the drop; they need four points from their last three matches to secure that. A 3-0 win over immediate former champions, Lille, in the last game, moved them closer to safety. They won three penalties in the Lille game and scored with them all as Lille were reduced to nine men after Renato Sanches and Burak Yilmaz were sent off. That was Troyes’ first win in five matches and unlike PSG, they have something big to play for. Troyes have failed to score in two of their last five matches, and both sides have scored in two of their last five matches. Away from home, Troyes have just one clean sheet in five matches; it came in a 2-0 win over 19th placed Bordeaux.
Troyes do not have a very good run; they go into this game with one win in five matches and their away form isn’t impressive either. They’ve however managed to score in four of their last five away matches. PSG haven’t done so well defensively and the visitors will want to exploit this. It is however the PSG attack that will worry Troyes. Back both teams to score with PSG winning.
