Petra Kvitová v Donna Vekić Betting Tips [25 June 2023]

The final of the 2023 WTA Grass Court Championships Berlin is set with seventh-seeded Petra Kvitova taking on unseeded Donna Vekic. Both players are seeking their first ever win at this tournament. Kitova comes into this final ninth in the rankings for women's players while Vekic sits lower down at 23. Peta Kvitova was able to dispose of Ekaterina Alexandrova in the semifinals in straight sets. Donna Vekic pulled off an impressive upset in her semi-final overcoming sixth-seeded Maria Sakkari 2-0 winning the second set on a tie-break.

Kvitova will be seeking her 18th WTA Tour victory and her 31st title overall. The 33-year-old is a fprmer two-time Wimbledon champion, last winning the title nine years ago. The Eastbourne tournament was won last year, her first grass court title since 2018. This year has seen the Czech win the Miami hard court title and she beat Vekic in the last 32. No wins were recorded on clay this year.. The return to grass has worked and all four wins this week have been in straight sets. 

Donna Vekic can go as high as 17th if winning only her second WTA Tour grass court final. The other was in Nottingham six years ago. To do so, she needs to beat Kvitova on this surface for the first time. Vekic trails 4-1 in previous meetings, the one match on grass being in Eastbourne last year. Vekic has lost her last three matches to the Czech. One title has been won this year, a hard court event in Monterrey. This week has also seen her beat reigning Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina, the only player to take a set off her so far. Her last three matches have all included a tie-break.

This should be an excellent match between two players who have been in fine form this tournament. Vekic has pulled off a number of upsets so far, defeating two top 10 ranked players en route to the final. She'll have to do it once more if she is to claim her fifth WTA Tour title and will face stiff competition in the form of Petra Kvitova. The Czech is looking set to add a 31st title to her stellar collection and has yet to lose a set in this tournament. Vekic has certainly put together an impressive run as an unseeded entry.
