Mikel Arteta will take his Arsenal team to Norway to face Molde for their fourth group game of this Europa League campaign. These teams met in London three weeks ago with the Gunners prevailing 4-1 on the night to move to a maximum of nine points so far. Molde seem the most likely to progress alongside Arsenal as they are currently second on six points following wins over Dundalk and Rapid Vienna. However, another defeat to the Gunners could provide Rapid Vienna the opportunity to level things up in the runners-up position. Molde had never faced an English side until their loss to Arsenal but with a steady home record in Europe they should at least cause a stir on Thursday night when they host the return fixture. They have lost just one of their last 18 home games in Europe including in qualifiers but their only game against a side inside Europe’s top five leagues was with Sevilla in a round of 32 tie where they won the home leg 1-0.
Victory over Molde was Arsenal’s fourth in five games over a Norwegian side and they remain unbeaten against teams from the country. However, their travels in Europe haven’t always been plain sailing with Arsenal conceding in each of their last three group games on the road. Arsenal have only scored twice from open play across their last four matches away from home, both of which came in Austria against Rapid Vienna.
