Marseille v Toulouse Betting Tips [29 December 2022]

Fourth placed Marseille will be confident of a home win over Toulouse who are 12th in Ligue 1. The home side are 11 points behind leaders PSG at the time of writing this preview. Winning the title looks totally out of the question but qualifying for the Champions League is possible. They currently hold a position that would take them into the Europa League but are only a point behind third placed Rennes and overtaking would see them int the qualifying rounds of the 2023/24 Champions League. If they want a place in the group stages, they are six points behind Lens, who they lost to in October. Marseille had won their last two league games played before the World Cup break. They beat Monaco and Lyon who are both in the top eight. Home form for Marseille has seen them win five of their eight league games. They'd won four in a row at the start of the season before a run of only one point from three games that included losses to Ajaccio and Lens. 

Toulouse are 12th but a form guide for the last five league games has them in 20th. They are only three points above the relegation zone and 12 adrift of the Europa Conference League position. Toulouse were probably glad the World Cup break came when it did. They'd lost three successive league fixtures with just one goal scored and seven goals conceded.. Their zway form is disappointing with just one win, a draw and five defeats. The season began with a win at Troyes but since then five of the next six have been lost with their only point being earned at Lyon in October. Their last four league visits to Marseille have seen them fail to score with the last three being lost.
