This is the early kick-off and a win for Manchester United can take them to the top of the Women's Super League. They begin the weekend in third and host Aston Villa who are fifth in the table. United are only three points behind leaders Chelsea and their goal difference is only one behind that of the Londoners. The home side have won six of their seven league games this season, the other was a home loss to Chelsea. They bounced back well from that defeat with a 3-2 win at second placed Arsenal. Before the loss to Chelsea, United had won two home league games against Reading and Brighton, both by a 4-0 scoreline. Nine home league win in a row had been recorded by United with just one goal conceded. That includes a 5-0 win over Villa last December.
Aston Villa are only two places behind their opponents but six points adrift. They have won their last three games in all competitions. However, their two league wins were against Liverpool and Reading who are two of the bottom three. Before those two wins, Villa had lost three league games in a row, conceding six goals. To show the gap in class between the top three and the rest of the Women's Super League, Villa have already lost 7-0 at Arsenal and 3-1 at Chelsea. Back United to win this match and be ahead at both half and full time.
