Manchester United have made a terrible start to the new Premier League season. They begin the weekend bottom of the table and host Liverpool who are 12th. It's not often these two clubs meet without either having won a Premier League game this season. United have had two defeats and conceded six goals. Conceding four at Brentford last weekend was a total disaster and big changes are needed if they are to mount any challenge for European football next season. There's just too many mistakes being made and far too much uncertainty around Old Trafford both on and off the pitch. While they are defending the way they are, it's hard to tip them to win a game.
Liverpool could start this game seven points adrift of the league leaders. They have drawn both of their league games this season but would have expected far more than that against Fulham and Crystal Palace. With Manchester City having already won both of their first two games and looking very dominant, Liverpool need to start winning matches and sooner rather than later. Old Trafford used to be a hard place to go and try and get a win. However, Brighton have already achieved that this season. Back Liverpool to get the win here and cause even more misery for United.
