Manchester United go into the sixth set of Premier League fixtures in third place, only behind the leaders on goal difference. They host Aston Villa who are in tenth position, six points behind their opponents. Both clubs were knocked out of the EFL Cup in midweek, not bad news for United as it'll help ease their fixture list. They played a weakened line-up in their defeat by West Ham United and the big guns will return for this game. United may have lost two cup games this season but are undefeated in the Premier League. Four out of five games have been won, the most recent being a 2-1 win at West Ham. Cristiano Ronaldo already has four goals from his three games for United. An anytime goalscorer bet on him is of course an obvious one to place. United have only lost two of their last 11 home Premier League games, both against sides that finished in the top five last season.
Aston Villa have won two, drawn one and lost two of their five Premier League games this season. Midweek saw them lose on penalties to Chelsea in the EFL Cup. Their most recent Premier League game was an impressive 3-0 home win over Everton. All the goals came in a manic nine-minute second half spell. They have seven points and all have come at Villa Park. Two away games at Watford and Chelsea have seen them beaten and with three goals conceded in both matches. That doesn't bode that well for a good performance at Old Trafford this weekend. Villa have not won any of their last seven league visits to United, last winning in 2009. They have already lost eight away games this year in the Premier League and number nine looks on its way. Back United to win and have a side bet on them to do so with both teams scoring. Nine of the last ten United home league matches have seen both teams get on the scoresheet.
