The final of the Bad Homburg Open will be contested by two unseeded players; Lucia Bronzetti and Katerina Siniakova on Saturday. Bronzetti is seeking to win her second title of the season. She bagged her first-ever career tour title in May when she won the Morocco Open. The Italian made her season debut on grass at Bad Homburg and has dropped one set in her three matches. She was granted a walkover in the semifinals by top seed Iga Swiatek and this should work in her favour here. Brozetti made her career debut on grass last season and so has managed a 5-3 win-loss record on the surface. Advancing to the final has catapulted her to a new career-high ranking of number 47 in the live ranking.
Katerina Siniakova is through to her first final of the season. She has been a regular in tour finals, unlike Bronzetti, with Saturday’s final being her eighth at the top level. The Czech has however not dominated and has won only three times. She is up to 39th in the live ranking. Siniakova has played 21 matches so far in 2023 and has won 12 times. In the last round, she defeated Emma Navarro in straight sets of 6-2, 6-2. It was the third time in the competition that she had won 2-0.
Bronzetti was handed a walkover in the last round and will therefore be fresher than Siniakova here. Apart from being a decent player, she has also had that feel of lifting a title this season. Our prediction for Lucia Bronzetti v Katerina Siniakova is for Bronzetti to win.
