Manchester City have already won Group A of the Champions League. They finish the group with a trip to third placed Leipzig who are trying to get into the Europa League. The Germans can't make the knockout stages of the Champions League but are above Club Brugge in the chase for the transfer to the Europa League. They are level on points with the Belgians but ahead on head-to-head results after beating them 5-0 away in their last game. Matching the result Brugge get at PSG will see them keep their European season alive. Their form is not good though with three league losses in a row. The weekend saw them beaten 2-1 at Union Berlin. Home results in the Champions League so far this season have seen them draw with PSG and lose to Brugge.
City won the reverse fixture 6-3 and lead the table by four points. With the group won and a ridiculously busy festive fixture list ahead, City will make several changes for this game. They have the squad to deal with that but have on occasion lost games when doing so. For example, losing at Shakhtar in 2017 when there was nothing to play for. City are in good form with seven straight wins. The last was at Watford on Saturday and took them top of the English Premier League for the first time this season. It might be best to delay placing a bet until their team is announced. The safest bet at present is on both teams to score. A side bet on City to win is an idea if not too many changes or youngsters played.
