Leicester City’s season hasn’t gained pace yet and their 2-2 draw with Burnley in their latest game did little to ease the pressure as they shift gears to the Europa League, travel to Poland to take on Legia Warsaw in Group C. Hosts Legia Warsaw lead this group with three points following their 1-0 win over Spartak Moscow while Leicester drew 2-2 with Napoli on Match Day 1. Legia Warsaw are also coming from a disappointing outing, a 3-2 loss to Rakow in their domestic league. That result ended a three-game winning run, which Legia Warsaw will be keen to reestablish here but top of their agenda should be addressing the defensive issues. They have managed just one clean sheet in their last five matches though they’ve failed to score in just one in the same period. Their last three matches have all produced over 2.5 goals and the same has been the case in their last three home matches.
Leicester City are also coming from high scoring matches and for them too, it is a mix of weaknesses in defence as well as consistency in scoring. Their 2-2 draw with Burnley was the third time in the last five matches that they scored twice but they’ve also conceded two in three different matches out of the five. It has been tough for Leicester, and they have just one clean sheet to show, in their last seven matches. That clean sheet came against lower league side, Millwall in the League Cup. Both teams have scored in five of Leicester’s last seven matches and it will be tougher for them here without the suspended Wilfred Ndidi. The Nigerian international was sent off late in the Napoli game as Leicester let a 2-0 lead slip, the match ending 2-2. Leicester have also not done well in the Europa League; they have just one win in six matches in the competition.
These two sides have had inconsistent runs as they head to face off. Their matches have seen a lot of goals, with over 2.5 goals a regular fixture. Clean sheets have been few and we expect more of the same here, so go for over 2.5 goals.
