Things have looked much better for Granada in their last two matches, and they will be eyeing a third straight win when they travel to the Estadio Municipal de Butarque to face Leganes in the Segunda Division. Hosts Leganes are 13th going into this game, with 21 points and Granada are four points ahead, in sixth place. Leganes needed a leveler from Jose Arnaiz to pick a point in their 2-2 draw with Sporting Gijon in their last game. Earlier, they had drawn 0-0 with Gernika in the Copa del Rey and lost on post-match penalties. Going into this game, they have two wins in the last five matches and have failed to score in two of the five games. Leganes have however managed to score twice in three of their last four matches and will be a strong favorite here going by their numbers in attack. In the league alone, Leganes are unbeaten in the last five matches, scoring twice in four of the five matches, but they have just three clean sheets in 10 league games.
Granada, on the other hand will hope their new found confidence in attack shows in this game like it has been in the last two matches. They’ve scored seven times in just the last two matches and this becomes more pronounced in the view of having failed to score in the earlier three games. Granada are coming from a 4-0 win over Albacete in the league, a win that followed a 3-2 away victory over Yeclano in the Copa del Rey. With just three wins in the last 10 league matches, Granada will head into this game as the underdogs and the fact that they’ve failed to score in three of four league matches will not boost their confidence a lot. They have been even poorer away from home; in the last seven away league matches, Granada are winless and they’ve failed to score in any of the games, while only keeping two clean sheets.
Leganes had a slow start to the season but are catching up and their biggest quality going into this game is based in attack. While they’ve been scoring well in the recent matches, their opponents have really struggled on that front and especially when playing away from home. With this in mind, we will back Burgos to win with a clean sheet.
