Leeds United are 13th in the Premier League and host Crystal Palace who are a place and a point ahead of them.. Recent performances suggest that Leeds have turned a corner in their fight for survival. Javi Gracia’s men have won two of their last three matches which has allowed them to claw out of the relegation zone and move two points to safety. They beat fellow survival hopefuls Nottingham Forest 2-1 at home last time out and will hope to ride this momentum with eight matches left to play. Palace won the first-leg fixture at home but with Leeds winning the last six home matches against the London club, they will be confident of securing a win on Sunday especially with manager Javi Gracia having never lost against Palace in the league.
Crystal Palace have been on a downward spiral in 2023 and won their first match of the year last weekend when they came from behind to beat Leicester City 2-1 in what was new boss Roy Hodgson’s first match in charge. The veteran tactician agreed to come out of retirement for his second stint with the club and the decision has already had the desired effect. They will now hope to protect that spark and start an upward trajectory. Before the win over Leicester, Palace had lost four straight matches. They have also not fared any better on their travels and have only won two matches while away from home in the league. Hodgson has also struggled with his teams over the years while coming up against Leeds and has lost five of the six matches he has played against them.
Leeds seem to have turned a corner and come to this match with better form compared to Palace. Considering this as well as the fact that Palace have always struggled while playing away to Leeds, we conclude that Leeds United v Crystal Palace will produce a home win.
