Leeds v Brighton Betting Tips [15 May 2022]

Leeds United’s survival race keeps suffering blows, and after three straight defeats, they will be keen on a better result when they host Brighton in their next league game. Leeds go into this game with 34 points, in 18th place and Brighton are ninth in the standings, with 47 points. Leeds are coming from yet another defeat, this time to Chelsea, and for the second straight game they had a player sent off inside the opening half hour. Daniel James was shown a straight red after 23 minutes for a tackle on Matteo Kovacic. He joins Luke Ayling on the sidelines after the English defender was sent off for a two-footed tackle on Arsenal’s Gabriel Martinelli. It could get worse for Leeds; Raphinha and Jack Harrison also left the field injured in the Chelsea loss, while Stuart Dallas is out together with Patrick Bamford. These come as Leeds struggle to create much in attack, having scored just one goal in the last four matches. Their home form hasn’t been great either, with just one win in the last eight home matches. They have six losses in eight home matches.

Brighton, on the other hand, are enjoying a good run, their only loss in the last seven matches having been inflicted by the league leaders, Manchester City. That is quite understandable, and in recent matches, Brighton have shown they can pull their own weight. They have, in the last six matches, beaten Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United. In their last five games, they have three clean sheets, the most recent coming in their last game as they beat United 4-0. Brighton have scored two or more in their last three matches and have only failed to score once in their last six matches. With Leeds’ poor run at home, Brighton will be confident going into this one; they have three wins in their last four home matches.

Brighton come into this game as favorites; they can’t get into the European football slots but they can target an eighth placed finish. Brighton have beaten giants in the last six matches and this should be a relatively manageable game for them. Brighton have been great away from home and Leeds have struggled a bit at home. This will be a tough one for Leeds and we are backing Brighton to carry the day.
