Karolina Muchova v Aryna Sabalenka Betting Tips [8 June 2023]

Both Aryna Sabalenka and Karolina Muchova are in their first Roland Garros semi-final. Neither had made it past the third round of this Grand Slam before but are now just one match away from the final. For Aryna Sabalenka it'll be her second Grand Slam final of the year having won the Australian Open. The 25-year-old is the second seed while her opponent is unseeded. Sabalenka is currently top in both the live rankings and the WTA Race. If doing better than Swiatek in this tournament then the next ranking list will have her in top spot for the first time. The second seed has already won one clay court title this year. That came in Madrid where Iga Swiatek was beaten. Before that the world number one had beaten Sabalenka in the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix final. The 25-year-old is yet to drop a set in this tournament and beat unseeded Elina Svitolina 6-4 6-4 in the quarter finals. This is her second match against Muchova. The other was back in 2019 and won by Sabalenka but that was a hard court match.

At the start of this Roland Garros tournament, Karolina Muchova was ranked 43rd. This run to the last four has seen the Czech equal her career-high best of 19th. Beating Sabalenka will take her up to 16th in the rankings. This is only her second Grand Slam semi-final, the other being in the 2021 Australian Open. After only playing a couple of clay court tournaments prior to this Grand Slam, Muchova has hit top form in Paris. That was evident right from the start when she beat eighth seeded Maria Sakkari in the first round. 27th seed Irina Camella-Begu has also been beaten but those are the only two seeds she's faced so far. The quarter final saw her defeat unseeded Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova in straight sets. This looks like the end of her run though and we back Sabalenka to win in straight sets.
