Spain and Japan have already qualified for the knockout stages of the 2023 Women's World Cup. They have both won their first two games with Spain ahead on goal difference. Now they face each other to battle it out for top spot in Group C. The winners of this group take on the runners-up in Group A with the team finishing second up against the winners of that group. Spain have made a great start to this tournament and are now joint favourites with the USA to win the cup with some bookies. They are former world champions but that was achieved 12 years ago. Their last three games have been won by an aggregate score of 12-0 but they have lost three matches this year. Losses were inflicted on them by Brazil and the USA in the She Believes Cup and also by Denmark in a friendly. Three of their four previous games against Spain have been lost.
