Inter Milan and Ac Milan are in a tight race for the Serie A title and they are also vying for the same piece of silverware in the Coppa Italia. They will face off in the semi final return leg on Tuesday, after drawing 0-0 in the opening leg. Inter will play as the home team in this leg, and coming from three straight wins, will hope the run continues. They are unbeaten in nine matches, and have managed six clean sheets in that run. Inter haven’t been scoring a lot of goals though; their 3-1 win over Spezia in their most recent game was the second of their last six games in which they scored two or more. In those six matches, only one has produced over 2.5 goals.
AC Milan are also coming from a win and a good run. Their 2-0 win over Genoa in the last game presented their 13th unbeaten game since losing to Spezia in January. It also came with their seventh straight clean sheet and they have eight in the last 10 matches. Milan have conceded only three goals in the last 10 matches, but have failed to score in three of the 10 games. While they are doing well in defence, Milan haven’t been at their best in attack; they head into this game having scored more than a goal in just two of the last 10 matches. Most of this has been blamed on the injury to Swedish forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who has been on and off. As a result, nine of Milan’s last 10 matches have produced under 2.5 goals.
Both Inter and AC Milan have been doing well ahead of this game. They are neck to neck in the Serie A and this will also be a tight encounter. These two sides haven’t been scoring lots of goals but defensively, they’ve been superb. We expect the same going into this game so back it to produce under 2.5 goals.
