It’s all to play for in the second leg of the Coppa Italia semis as Inter Milan host Juventus at San Siro on Wednesday after the first leg ended 1-1. The winner of this tie will face the victors of Fiorentina and Cremonese in the final later in May. Inter come into this match on the back of a 3-0 win over Empoli in Serie A over the weekend that saw them hang on to their 6th spot in the league. While there is so much to play for to get back into the top-four or be knocked out of the top-six altogether, Inter will have one eye on the upcoming crucial fixtures. This game will be followed by critical games against Lazio and Roma in the league while the Champions League semis against AC Milan is also on the horizon. That doesn’t change the fact that Inter have failed to win their last four home matches in all competitions and the pressure is on them.
Juventus came back into the top-four of the league standings after their point ban was reversed, but couldn’t celebrate that over the weekend. They lost 1-0 to Napoli with the winning goal coming late in injury time. They also have an upcoming Europa League semi-final against Sevilla later in May, but need to correct their recent form to mount any possible attack in this fixture. Eight of their last nine matches in all competitions have seen under 2.5 goals which could once again be the case in this game. They need to be at their best to overturn a three-game winless away run, which saw them lose two and draw one.
