Hungarian giants Ferencvaros will be angling for a place in the Champions League playoffs when they play host to Azerbaijan’s Qarabag in the return leg of their third qualifying round tie. Both sides have all to play for after a 1-1 draw in the first leg and the hosts will feel they have an upper hand after the first leg result. Going into this game, Ferencvaros have scored in each of their last five matches., so they carry a good run in attack, and are unbeaten in their last three games. They’ve only lost once in the last five matches, winning three, with three of their last five games ending in over 2.5 goals. Their run at home has been better, with two clean sheets and four wins in the last five matches, while they’ve scored two or more goals in three. Four of their last five home matches have produced over 2.5 goals with both teams scoring in three.
Qarabag may be playing away from home but they will go into this game very confident, based on their scoring run. They are unbeaten in five straight games and much of this is down to their scoring form, having managed 14 goals in the last five matches. However, they have no clean sheet in their last five matches and twice in those five matches, they’ve conceded two goals. Four of Qarabag’s last five matches have produced over 2.5 goals. Apart from the fact that they haven’t kept many clean sheets in their recent matches, one other concern for Qarabag will be the fact that their away run in recent matches hasn’t been great. They haven’t won any of the last three away matches though in the last five they’ve scored two or more in four.
Both Ferencvaros and Qarabag have good scoring runs but their defensive numbers aren’t the best. This is why both sides scoring has been a recurring stat in their matches. Most of their games have also been high-scoring and we expect to see the same here so go for over 2.5 goals.
