Bayern Munich v Paderborn Betting Tips [21 February 2020]

Bayern Munich have steamrolled their way back to the top of the Bundesliga in 2020 and they now lead the way with 46 points, one clear of their nearest contenders RB Leipzig. Four points separate the top four sides in the division after 22 rounds of fixtures and now top meets bottom at the Allianz Arena in what should be another straightforward victory for the Bavarians. 

Bayern have won five of their six matches in 2020 scoring 20 goals in those games and were 4-1 winners away at Koln last week. The record-champions returned to winning ways after a 0-0 draw with Leipzig the week prior. Hans Flick’s has won 13 of his 16 matches since taking over on a permanent basis back in November and Bayern have been mightily impressive at home in that tenure. Since a defeat to Hoffenheim here back in October, the Bavarians have won eight of their 10 home matches with only Bayer Leverkusen winning here in that run. The hosts were made to work for their win when these sides met in the reverse fixture. They were 3-2 winners in that game back in September and that was Bayern’s fifth win in succession against Paderborn since 2001. 

As for the visitors they aren’t being given much of a chance coming into this game. With just one win in five in the Bundesliga in 2020 they are now six points adrift of safety but they are involved in a three-way tussle at the bottom for that relegation play-off spot alongside Dusseldorf and Werder Bremen. Paderborn have beaten Freiburg and drew away at Schalke in the league in 2020 but they do average 1.8 goals conceded in games on the road.  

Not only does the form table point to a Bayern win here but it points to a pretty convincing one and that’s what I’m expecting here. As the key statistics point out Bayern score a lot of goals and they do so in both halves and I see real value in the market here for Bayern to win both halves at 1.5 so back that here.
