Bayern Munich could rise up fourth place and leapfrog Borussia Dortmund at second. A win for Dortmund, on the other hand, coupled with some luck, could push them to the summit.
Munich are from a Champions League victory over Olympiakos Pireus, which came as a respite for them after they suffered a humiliating 5-1 defeat at the hands of Eintrancht Frankfurt one week earlier. Bayern will go into the match a confident side as they have won five of their last six home matches by scoring two or more goals.
Meanwhile, visitors Dortmund are playing brilliantly and have won all of their last three head to head matches, including a 3-2 Champions League victory over Inter Milan last weekend. In the match, Dortmund rose from two goals down to carry the day with a stellar performance by Hakimi and Brandt in the second half. Hakimi scored the first and last goals for Dortmund.
Dortmund are also performing well in away matches and have only lost once in six travelling games, which have included two wins, three draws and one loss. In addition, Dortmund have scored at least two goals in four of six away matches. But coach Lucien Favre will be wary of Munich who they have not beaten in three games hosted at the Allianz Arena.
Bayern have a home advantage that they have been known to capitalize on for clear victories. But Dortmund are not pushovers and will strive to protect the advantage they have over the hosts. However, we see the home side working exceptionally hard and eventually walking out with a slim margin win.
