Daniil Medvedev v Christopher Eubanks Betting Tips [12 July 2023]

Third seed Danill Medvedev is in his first Wimbledon quarter final. That's also the case for his opponent, unseeded Christopher Eubanks. Medvedev is yet to face a seed in this grass court tournament. That will change if he makes it to the last four with the scheduled opponents being either top seed Carlos Alcaraz or the sixth seeded Holger Rune. Medvedev's best performance at Wimbledon had been reaching the fourth round in 2021. Now he's beaten that with this run to the last eight. The Russian has only won one ATP Tour grass court event. That was two years ago in Mallorca when beating Sam Querrey. This year he played two grass court warm-up events. He didn't get off to a good start with a loss to Adrian Mannarino in the Netherlands. Medvedev fared better at Halle with a run to the last eight before losing in straight sets to Roberto Bautista Agut. So far at these Wimbledon Championships, the 27-year-old has got revenge on Mannarino with a straight sets win in round two. He's only dropped one set when losing the opening set to Marton Fucsovics in round three. The last round saw Medvedev drop only six games in two sets against Jiri Lehecka who then retired.

Before this year Christopher Eubamks hadn't played in the main draw at Wimbledon. Four attempts had been made to get through the qualifying rounds but only two matches had been won. He'd also never got past the second round of any Grand Slam so this is a massive achievememt for him getting to the last eight at Wimbledon. It's doing his ranking the power of good too. He was ranked 123rd at the start of 2023 and was 43rd at the start of this Grand Slam. His run to the quarter finals has taken him up to 31st and a win over Medvedev can see him rise another ten places. Eubanks played four grass court warm-up events and won the Mallorca title. That good form has continued at Wimbledon with two seeded players beaten. He defeated the 12th seeded Cameron Norrie in round two. Then the fifth seed Stefanos Tsitsipas was beaten in the fourth round. He's played five tie-breaks so far and in the third round, all three sets against Chris O'Connell were won that way. This looks a tough task for him but we feel he can win a set. Our tip is to go for over 3.5 sets to be played.
