CA Paranaense PR v Botafogo Betting Tips [3 June 2023]

11th-place Athletico Paranaense and league leaders Botafogo will face off for the third time in the past 11 days when they meet for this Brasileiro Serie A fixture on Saturday. Botafogo stormed out of the gates in the 2023 season, winning seven of their first eight matches. This puts Fogo five points clear of defending champions Palmeiras in second-place. Paranaense have experienced a much slower start to the domestic campaign, splitting their eight matches so far with four wins and four defeats. At home has been a different story as Athletico Paranaense have won six of their last seven fixtures. This includes a 2-1 home win over Atletico Mineiro in the Copa Libertadores. 

Botafogo’s 1-0 home win in the second leg of the Brazilian cup means that they have now won their last four in a row in regulation time. While their home form has been stellar this season, Botafogo have also been able to put up some consistent results away from home. They’ve won two and lost once in their three league away trips. They’ve also managed to avoid defeat twice in their three Copa Libertadores away group stage matches. With the team in a real groove at the moment, manager Luis Castro will be confident of exacting a measure of revenge over Paranaense here.

This is a difficult fixture for Athletico Paranaense. They are in the midst of an extended losing run and have a massive fixture against Libertad coming up in the Copa Libertadores in just three days’ time. Botafogo also have a Sudamericana match on deck but they are in a more comfortable position in their group with a five point lead over third-place.
