League One Burton play host to National League South side Chippenham in the FA Cup second round. The Burton side are 21st in League One mainly due to their poor away form. Midweek saw them beat Tranmere on penalties in the English Football Trophy, That extended their unbeaten run to four gams. Their matches have shown a tendency to be front foot of late, with five of their last six featuring goals at both ends. They have also been stellar on home turf, where they are unbeaten in their last seven, with their draw against League One leaders Plymouth last weekend being a case in point of their home strength. Over 90 minutes though, they have gone three without a win but remain hard to beat on home soil. Burton also faced non-league opposition in the first round, beating Needham Market 2-0.
With regards to Chippenham, they should rejoice a matchup against a side three divisions above them in the English pyramid system. Currently 21st in the National League South, the visitors are coming into this one in poor form, having won just two of their last six games. Their biggest issue seems to be on the defensive end at the moment, having managed to keep just two clean sheets in their last fourteen games. Concerning their away record, Chippenham have not been at their best, winning just two of their fourteen away games and conceding ten goals in their last five. They have had to play five matches to reach this stage. in the first round, they knocked out League Two Lincoln City.
