Brighton hope to bolster their top-four credentials by getting a result against Manchester City at The Amex in the Premier League on Saturday. The Seagulls are fourth, with 15 points from eight matches, two points behind Manchester City, who are in third place. After a brilliant opening to the campaign, Brighton have lost momentum in recent weeks, drawing their last three Premier League fixtures. The most recent two of those three were goalless stalemates. They have won three of their previous five matches in all competitions at home. Only one of those games featured more than two goals. The history of this fixture would suggest that a low-scoring game is unlikely. Four of the previous six games between Brighton and City featured four or more goals. City have won three of their last four visits to Brighton, but lost on their most recent visit, going down 3-2 at the tail end of last season.
Although City often play without a recognised forward, it hasn't stopped them from finding the back of the net regularly. However, most of their free-scoring displays this season have been reserved for home fixtures. Three of City's last five away matches featured fewer than three goals. We think a Brighton side that has kept three clean sheets in their previous five home games might be able to make this fixture difficult for City. We suggest backing under 2.5 goals.
