Brighton and Hove Albion will be targeting a move up to the first-half of the Premier League points table when they face a red-hot Leicester City flying high this season. Brighton start the round 11th in the points tally, while Leicester are second with 26 points.
After a poor start to their season that has put them closer to the bottom three, things have improved for Brighton. After winning just once until September, Brighton have gone on to win three of their last five matches. This has given their top-flight journey wings and they find themselves in a comfortable position. They remain just two points behind top-five, which is an admirable condition considering all the problems they have had. Even more impressive is their home form. Brighton have won their last three Premier League home fixtures and have lost only once at home this season in the league. The ‘Seagulls’ have scored at least twice in each of those three wins and should be targeting the same.
However, Brighton are up against the league’s best defence in Leicester. The ‘Foxes’ have conceded just eight goals entire season and have managed five clean sheets so far. Only Liverpool have been able to score multiple goals against the impressive Leicester City. The visitors travel here having won their last four league games and six of their last seven. Incidentally, Leicester also have the second-best scoring record of the division with 29 goals to their name. Jamie Vardy’s scoring form gives Leicester renewed hope. The forward has netted in his last four Premier League matches and has six goals in total this season.
Brighton & Hove Albion have been very impressive at home this season. They come into this fixture on the back of a three-match winning run. Although they haven’ ever won four Premier League home games in a row, Brighton will hope that they can trip Leicester City. The visitors are second in the league and are looking to keep the pressure up on the league leaders Liverpool. Their impressive defence meant only one side has scored more than one goal against Leicester City this season.
