Bournemouth slipped out of the Championship promotion play-off places on Wednesday evening. They slipped down to seventh and have a tough home game here against in-form third placed Watford. Bournemouth went 2-0 down in the first half against Cardiff on Wednesday and couldn't get back into the game. That was their second straight league defeat and are now out of the play-off places on goal difference behind the Welsh side. Bournemouth had been in contention for a top two finish until a run of one point from five games. They did rally though with seven points from three games but their two wins came against sides in the bottom four. Now after two losses, they need to pick themselves up but are 11 points behind the automatic promotion places. Securing a play-off place is their key aim now. Home form has seen only two wins in the last six league matches. It's a while since they beat a top team at home with the last five victories all being against sides in the bottom half of the table.
Watford are in third and only behind the second automatic promotion spot on goal difference. They made it four league wins in a row with a 3-2 victory at Blackburn Rovers on Wednesday evening. It looked as if it'd been an easier win after going 2-0 up in the first half. They now have 12 goals in their last four league games and have only lost one of their last ten league matches. Away form hasn't always been that great for Watford this season. Only two of their first 11 away league games was won. Form has picked up though with three wins and two draws from the last five played. With Bournemouth again struggling for form, go for Watford to get an important away win.
