Andrey Rublev v Aslan Karatsev Betting Tips [6 July 2023]

Seventh seed Andrey Rublev and unseeded Aslan Karatsev will square off in the second round at Wimbledon on Wednesday. The winner will advance to the third round where a tie with either the wildcard David Goffin or qualifier Tomas Barrios awaits. Aslan Karatsev won the first and only time that he and Rublev were matched against one another. This was in Dubai in 2021 and he will hope for the same outcome here. Karatsev is through to the second round here for the first time in what is his fourth appearance. Before this season, he had never won a main draw match at Wimbledon and needed to come from behind to achieve this feat. In his first-round showdown with Luca Van Assche, Karatsev lost the opening set before bouncing back to win the next three. The win was his 22nd of the season and helped him move up two places to number 48 in the live ranking. Karatsev has always struggled on grass in his career. But this season he has managed to win more matches than he has ever won in a season on the surface. He however still is on a losing record on grass in his career.

Rublev won his first-round match in straight sets, this match though will not be as straightforward. This is because Karatsev has defeated him in their only other previous encounter.
