The disappointment of the midweek Europa League elimination notwithstanding, Fenerbahçe should fancy their chances of a win this weekend. They travel to Bahçeşehir Okulları Arena on Sunday to play Alanyaspor in Süper Lig. Ahead of this weekend matches, the hosts are 10th in the standings with 28 points from 24 matches while the visitors are 2nd with 51 points from 23 matches. Alanyaspor lost 2-0 last weekend against Ankaragucu making it four losses from their last five matches. They are in the mid-table but only four points separate them from the relegation zone. That should take nothing away from their home form as Alanyaspor have lost only one of their last ten home matches in the league, winning six and drawing three.
Fenerbahçe are coming off a 1-0 win over Sevilla in the Europa League which wasn’t enough to secure progression. Now that they are out of Europe, they can concentrate on the title race in Süper Lig. The visitors are nine points behind leaders Galatasaray but with a game in hand. Any result other than a win would be detrimental to their hopes of catching Galatasaray, so they would be determined to get back to winning ways. Fenerbahçe have won five of their last six league matches drawing the other, so there is enough form to build confidence on this trip.
