Saturday saw Manchester City crowned Premier League champions for the third successive season. They will be in celebratory mood when hosting 12th placed Chelsea. This is their last home league match of the season with trips to Brighton and Brentford to follow. City are in awesome form at present and were out of this world against Real Madrid in midweek. Their last 19 games have produced 17 wins and an away draws with Bayern Munich and Real Madrid. 11 consecutive Premier League games have been won with 32 goals scored. Home form has been dominant with 49 points earned out of 54. 57 goals have been scored in their home league games and only five other sides have scored that many at all venues. The last nine home league matches have all been won and there are many more impressive stats we could add.
Chelsea know what a massively difficult task they have this weekend. Already this season they have been beaten 4-0 at the Etihad in the FA Cup. The reverse league fixture saw them beaten 1-0 and Chelsea have lost their last five games to City without scoring. They'll remind their opponents that the game before that they beat them 1-0 in the Champions League final. Chelsea can only dream of such achievements at present. They did not expect to be 42 points behind City at this stage of the season. A win for City will leave the champions with over double the points of Chelsea. Frank Lampard is in his final games as boss and it's not been a great time for him. Chelsea have shown some improvement of late with four points from their last two games. That good run ends here, back City to win and lead at half and full time.
