Leicester v Bournemouth Betting Tips [8 April 2023]

Two relegation-threatened sides face off this weekend as 19th placedLeicester City host Bournemouth who are a place and two points above them. Both teams have a chance to rise from the relegation zone with a win here. Leicester City are enduring a tough campaign and seven years after winning the league title, they could find themselves playing in the Championship next season. They should have held on for at least a point in their last game, as they fell 2-1 to Aston Villa. However, Harvey Barnes’ equalizer was rendered a mere consolation when Bertrand Traore scored a late winner to clinch the win after Leicester had Kiernan Drewsbury-Hall sent off in the 70th minute. It was the third time in four matches that Leicester conceded two or more goals. They have now failed to win any of their last eight matches, seven of them being losses. In 10 straight games, they have no clean sheet, but have failed to score in just three. At home, Leicester have lost each of the last four matches, and they’ve conceded twice or more in each of the last three home matches.

Bournemouth have also been inconsistent but their recent run is better than Leicester City’s. Three wins in their last seven matches have seen them collect crucial points in their race for survival. Beating some of the teams in the top half – Fulham and Liverpool – as well as pushing Arsenal to the limit, are just examples of how strong Bournemouth can be on their day. Leicester have lost three times in the last five matches but one area they can’t be faulted is their attack. They have failed to score in just three of their last 10 matches, but a permeable backline means both sides have scored in half of Bournemouth’s last 10 matches. Their away form isn’t the best though, with just one win posted in the last 12. In the last two meetings between these two sides, Bournemouth came from a goal down to beat Leicester City; the most recent meeting, hosted by Bournemouth, ended in a 2-1 win.

For these two sides, this is a must-win game. Three points here will be crucial to their quests for survival and we expect to see an end-to-end fight here. Both sides have been poor defensively and we do not expect much to change on that front. Bournemouth have however done better in their recent matches.
