Two struggling teams will be on display at the London Stadium in the Premier League, as West Ham United play host to Brighton & Hove Albion. West Ham start this round 17th in the table with 23 points, while Brighton are 15th with 25.
West Ham were out-muscled 2-0 by Liverpool in the rescheduled match during the midweek, making it three losses in four matches for the ‘Hammers’. They can slide into the relegation zone with a loss and on current form that is a true reflection of their woes. Goals have been coming too few and too far for the Hammers, who have just 27 goals to their name this season. At the other end, though, West Ham have already conceded 40 goals this season which is the fourth-worst defensive record of the league. West Ham’s home form is no succour, with just one win in their last nine league games at this venue – losing six and drawing the other two.
Brighton are marginally above their hosts, and are without a win in four Premier League games. They have won only once in their last nine league matches, losing four and drawing the other four. Much like their hosts, the ‘Seagulls’ have also struggled for goals with just 27 to their name. However, they have been frugal at the other end too, conceding just 34 goals. Away from home, Brighton have struggled for momentum losing their last three road trips. In fact, they have lost seven of their last nine Premier League away matches failing to keep a clean sheet each time.
This is a massive game between two struggling sides, as West Ham look to end their four-match winless run and Brighton look to pick up their second win in ten matches. Neither side inspire confidence of backing them for a win and we are going for a double chance on Brighton.
