Real Madrid v Shakhtar Donetsk Betting Tips [3 November 2021]

Real Madrid are at home on Wednesday night when they host Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League. Second in Group D going into matchday four, Madrid are behind Sheriff due to their head-to-head results. Shakhtar, meanwhile, are bottom with one point. Madrid have won the other three meetings between the sides, with the last one seeing them steamroll the opposition in a 5-0 procession. Vinicius Jr was on the scoresheet twice that night. He has scored nine goals in all competitions this season and set up a further two. Madrid are unbeaten in four matches in all competitions and were victorious over the weekend, away to Elche. They have failed to win their last three home matches, two of which were goalless draws. 

Yet a goalless draw seems unlikely when these teams meet. Four of the last five meetings have featured three or more goals. An edge-of-the-seat game is to be expected. Shakhtar are unbeaten in eight of their previous nine matches in all competitions, with the only blight on their record being that defeat to Madrid. We think Madrid will win but that they're not as good and that Shakhtar aren't as bad as that 5-0 result suggested. Back both teams to score.
