Both Nice and PSG will seek to get back to winning ways when they clash on Saturday at the former’s Allianz Riviera in round 31 of the French Ligue 1. Eighth-placed Nice come into this match having drawn their last two matches while PSG have uncharacteristically lost two matches in a row which has seen their lead at the top of the standings cut to just six points. Nice have amassed 45 points thanks to 11 wins and 12 draws and come to this match seven points adrift of the European qualifying places. Didier Digard’s men have drawn their last four league matches and only one team (Reims) has drawn more matches (13) than the 12 they have racked up this season. Despite struggling to come away with three points, they have proved difficult to beat in 2023 and are currently unbeaten in their last 14 matches across all competitions. Having had success against PSG in recent seasons, Nice will be confident of their chances of avoiding defeat again.
PSG arrive for this match with considerable pressure placed on them after suffering back-to-back defeats for the first time in the league this season. Goals have never been an issue for the star-studded side but in recent outings, the lack of goals has precipitated their struggles. Christophe Galtier’s men have lost three of their last four matches across all competitions and in both defeats, they were unable to find the back of the net. With a top-of-the-table clash coming up against Lens after this round, PSG could lose their advantage at the top of the table after both matches and therefore cannot afford anything else but a win on Saturday.
PSG come into this match with a lot of pressure on them to get back to winning ways but with Nice proving hard to win against, especially this year, this could be another frustrating outing for the league leaders. We, therefore, predict that Nice v PSG will end in a draw.
