The Serie A continues this weekend when Napoli host Roma for matchday 33 as we enter the final stretch of the season. There is plenty on the line for both teams here as each find themselves jockeying for European qualification positioning in the league table. Napoli currently sit third with 66 points after their title hopes took a big hit when they lost 3-2 at home to Fiorentina in their last match. They now trail second place Inter by three points and first place Milan by five points. The Gli Azzurri do have a solid lead over fourth place Juventus though, leading the Old Lady by four points as they look to secure a return to the Champions League. Their opponents come into this match on a high after advancing to the Conference League semifinals by exacting their revenge over Norwegian side Bodo/Glimt with a 4-0 home victory. Roma sit fifth in the Serie A table with a total of 57 points and will need some favorable results if they are to leapfrog Juventus for the fourth, and final, Champions League spot as they trail the Italian giants by five points with only five matches remaining.
Roma come into this match on a good run of form. The Giallorossi have only lost once in their last 12 matches and are unbeaten in their last 11 in the Serie A, of which they’ve recorded seven wins. They’ll face a tough test in a Napoli side that have been having an excellent season under manager Luciano Spalletti. While Napoli have a strong home record in the Serie A, one of the keys to their success this season has been their excellent away form, where they hold a league best 37 points and have only lost once compared to five losses at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium. Napoli do come into this match with the rest advantage after Roma’s midweek encounter, however the visitors' terrific form should see them at least be able to avoid defeat.
