Leeds United and Southampton aren't in the greatest of form at present. United are 12th in the table, a place and a couple of points above visiting Southampton. Both teams look safe from relegation but have a lot of work to do if they want European football next season. Southampton are still in the FA Cup, so perhaps have the best chance. For Leeds, seeing top teams win the two domestic cup competitions is their only real hope. If seventh was good enough to get you into the Europa League, United are only eight points adrift. However, that all means nothing while United aren't doing well. They have lost their last two league games and three of the last four. The only win in that period was at home to Crystal Palace who are almost as inconsistent as Leeds. Only four of their 11 home league games have been won this season. All have been against sides in the bottom half of the table and Southampton fit into that category.
Southampton actually topped the Premier League earlier in the season. There was talk of European football but their league form has just collapsed. A form guide for the last ten league matches has them one from bottom with only one win and six points earned. The home draw against Chelsea on Saturday ended a run of six straight league losses. The last three on the road have all been lost with 14 goals conceded. Only three of their 11 away league games have been won this season and they've only scored in one of the last four. Leeds can't be entirely trusted, so low stakes here but they can win this match. A side bet on both teams to score could also pay a profit if Leeds defend to their usual standard.
