Juventus will be at home to take on Fiorentina in the return leg of their semi final tie in the Coppa Italia, looking to defend their 1-0 lead from the first leg. The recent matches haven’t exposed the best part of Juventus; they have literally limped to two wins, two losses and a draw in their last five games. Juventus have one clean sheet in those five matches and on two occasions they’ve failed to score. Their two wins in the last five matches have been against struggling sides, Salernitana and Cagliari, both relegation candidates in Serie A and it is in these matches only, in the last five, that Juventus have scored more than a goal. Even when playing at home, Juventus haven’t inspired much confidence, especially with losses to Inter Milan and Villarreal. They are coming from a 1-1 home draw in their last game, and it took a stoppage time goal from Dusan Vlahovic to salvage a point, with Bologna playing with nine men at that point.
On the other hand, Fiorentina are doing well and have emerged as serious challengers to Juventus for the top four spot in Serie A, though they are seven points back but with a game in hand. They are coming from a 1-0 win over Venezia; a fourth win in five matches and a sixth unbeaten outing. The last time Fiorentina lost, it was against Juventus at home and they will be keen on overturn this to their favor. Fiorentina have three clean sheets in the last five matches and have only failed to score in one of their last 10 matches. Away from home, they have one loss in the last five matches but they have scored in all the five games. They have scored two or more goals in three of their last five matches and have no clean sheet in these five away games. Both teams have scored in the last five away matches and four of them have produced over 2.5 goals.
Juventus do not carry a very strong run into this game. They are playing at home but that hasn’t offered much lately either. Fiorentina are in great form and have shown great progress in recent matches. Their away form is promising and we will back them to take advantage of Juventus’ slump. Go for an away win.
