Inter Milan and AS Roma will both be looking to bounce back after losing outings in their previous Serie A matches. Inter hosts Roma, separated by a point, with Inter seventh on 12 and Roma sixth with 13 points. Inter are coming from a 3-1 loss to Udinese, which was their third defeat in five matches and they will be keen on bouncing back. They’ve failed to score in one of their last five matches, which points to a good attack but three times in five matches, they’ve conceded two or more goals. Inter Milan will also bank heavily on their home form, which has seen them go unbeaten in the last nine league matches there. Of the nine league games at home, Inter have won eight.
In each of the last four meetings with Inter, Roma have lost. They are also winless in the last 11 meetings with Inter and will be hoping they get a first win over the Milan side since 2017. Their situation is complicated by the fact that they don’t carry to this game a very good run, having lost three of the last five matches. At one point in their last five matches they were thrashed 4-0, by Udinese; they’ve failed to score in two of their last five matches and have just one clean sheet. Twice in the last three matches though, Roma have managed to score two or more goals. Four of their last five matches, all coming before their most recent game, a 1-0 loss to Atalanta, produced over 2.5 goals
Inter Milan are like Roma’s bogey team; they come into this game with four wins in four meetings with Roma, and unbeaten in the last 11. Both sides haven’t done so well in their recent matches but Inter have the edge in their home form as well as dominance over Roma. We will thus back the home side to carry the day.
